Lesbian Masculinity

and a good relationship with my father
2025



This project attempts to gain an understanding of my dedication to four actions essential to my practice: building, fixing, maintaining, and carrying. Through exploration and building, I’ve found these acts as expressions of lesbian masculinity; I’ve found that my interest in them and the object at the centre of it all (the bicycle) regularly drew back to my relationship with my dad.

This process of building and reflection led to the creation of three works included in the show: a construction, a text, image, and drawing-based reflection, and a collection of objects.
